چکیده

This paper presents a new control-loop configuration criterion for multivariable processes. Both the steady-state and transient information of the process transfer function are investigated. A new interaction measurement, relative normalized gain array, is proposed for evaluating control-loop interactions. Consequently, a new loop pairing criterion based on the relative normalized gain array is proposed for control structure configuration. The main contribution of this work is that it systematically analyzed the process transferring characteristics from both steady-state and transient perspectives and derived a feasible solution for the problem. Several examples, for which the conventional relative gain array based loop pairing criterion gives an inaccurate interaction assessment, are employed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed interaction measure and loop pairing criterion. 2009 Elsevier Ltd. Control Configuration Selection and Controller Design for Multivariable Processes Using Normalized Gain

Abstract—Several of the practical industrial control processes are multivariable processes. Due to the relation amid the variables (interaction), delay in the loops, it is very intricate to design a controller directly for these processes. So first, the interaction of the variables is analyzed using Relative Normalized Gain Array (RNGA), which considers the time constant, static gain and delay ...

Decentralized Fuzzy-PID Based Control Model for a Multivariable Liquid Level System

Multivariable liquid level control is essential in process industries to ensure quality of the product and safety of the equipment. However, the significant problems of the control system include excessive time consumption and percentage overshoot, which result from ineffective performance of the tuning methods of the PID controllers used for the system. In this paper, fuzzy logic was used to t...

Optimal Control of Nonlinear Multivariable Systems

This paper concerns a study on the optimal control for nonlinear systems. An appropriate alternative in order to alleviate the nonlinearity of a system is the exact linearization approach. In this fashion, the nonlinear system has been linearized using input-output feedback linearization (IOFL). Then, by utilizing the well developed optimal control theory of linear systems, the compensated ...

An interaction measure for control configuration selection for multivariable bilinear systems

Control configuration selection is the procedure of choosing the appropriate input and output pairs for the design of decoupled (SISO or block) controllers for multivariable systems. This step is an important prerequisite for a successful industrial control strategy. In industrial practice it is often the case that systems which need to be controlled are non-linear, and linear models are insuff...

Control of Multivariable Systems Based on Emotional Temporal Difference Learning Controller

One of the most important issues that we face in controlling delayed systems and non-minimum phase systems is to fulfill objective orientations simultaneously and in the best way possible. In this paper proposing a new method, an objective orientation is presented for controlling multi-objective systems. The principles of this method is based an emotional temporal difference learning, and has a...
